Corruption in this government is just scary and northerners seem to always be at the center of it all, confusing the government and making the country loose millions of dollars while they get their cut eventually. They re deliberately setting up the nation.

This Malami should be one of the richest persons in Nigeria now. I wonder how much of the recovered funds is current in his bank accounts, aside all the kickbacks he got from the so-called debt recovery companies.
Wait, let me digress a little from the topic.

Behind Old Nitel,

Sani Abacha Bye Pass.

All located in the state capital of Kebbi.

Are two of the numerous places where Malami has sinked in millions of naira. Currently, he has started this coded governorship campaigns too.

Correct,

Why approach a debt collector when you are still in negotiation with the debtors. Abubakar Malami is either incompetent or a fraudster, considering the fact that he was the former lawyer to the Abacha family. I'm inclined to say he is a fraudster.

Little-known Trobell International Limited had been engaged by Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation (AGF), in April 2018 to help recover an estimated $43 billion unpaid “oil profits” from multinational companies at a commission of five percent.

Effectively, Trobell was to pocket $2.15 billion as commission.

However, federal government decided in October 2019 to step down the recovery process following a meeting of stakeholders — after Trobell had issued demand notices to the oil companies.

Trobell is now claiming 50 percent of the fee, saying it had already done significant work.

Nigeria is currently in international arbitration with P&ID Ltd over a botched oil and gas processing contract in which $6.4 billion plus compound interest has been awarded against the country.

Also, Sunrise Power is making a $2.3 billion claim in arbitration against Nigeria over the Mambilla power project, although it has now entered into a $200 million settlement.

Wait!

Was there no termination clause? And did the concerned stakeholders not discuss this clause before termination?

Why didn’t we have such problems during Obasanjo’s Presidency?

Looks like some so called stakeholders are deliberately getting this government into judgment debts!

They have a valid case even though they had not recovered Zero Naira before the contract was terminated ..The Federal govt should try to settle of court with them ..The fault is from Malami who rushed to sign a contract with the company when he knew the govt was only bluffing and the IOC will leverage international powers to call their bluff

Until they sell you and all your unborn generations into slavery. Trobell is a shell corporation that basically operates out of a briefcase, it has no office anywhere, no structures & no employees aside from that drunkard Fulani man who goes around inserting himself into government transactions & collecting illegal broker's fees.

You can bet Malami himself is the puppet pulling Garba's strings and using him to hijack government revenue for himself

The govt should have done it's due diligence before signing a contract with a shell company

In all the arbitration cases, Malami seems to be benefiting, Look at how he mishandled P&ID case.

Not when it's the person responsible for doing 'due diligence' that is actually operating the shell company via proxy.

People don't seem to understand the level of corruption in this administration, it's at par with or probably even worse than what existed under Jonathan. Every single official has gone rogue and are working from within government to further the interests of their proxies & associates in the embezzlement and diversion of funds.

Nigeria/Nigerians will barely have a pot to piss in by 2023 when these 'integrity' people are done with their eight-year long orgy of stealing.

This hyper corruption of this current govt is no longer in doubt in any quarters , it's left for the EFCC to prove that the contract is null and void because it was borne out of Corruption in the first place

From the documents submitted to CAC memorandum of association during the time of incorporation, if debt recovery is not part of the company's object clause, baring any other exigencies judgement might go against Trobell.
Case study: Continental Chemist v Dr.CA Ifeakandu(1966) LCN/1358(SC). If you know, you know.

PRINCIPLES OF ULTRA VIRES

“…After a company is incorporated, the memorandum becomes the charter of its activities and at the same time defines its field of operation. Apart from statutory powers, anything done outside the stated objects is ultra vires the company; it is invalid and cannot be ratified by the members…” PER BAIRAMIAN JSC

Even a lay man knows that this is avoidable. Why engage private concerns when there are statutory government agencies that can perform the job without extra charges?

Bros o, he over stole, just that unlike his mates who used the money to start 1 or 2 businesses, buhari was so dull he couldn’t, instead spent the money recklessly until it ran too low, that’s why he has been contesting since 2003 till he finally won, now he will use the opportunity to loot for his 10th generations.

Amazing! Why are some humans so satanic?
- (1) Engineering company hired for debt recovery? Ridiculous!!
- (2) And it was a debt issue that FIRS and DPR can easily and conveniently handle.
That Malami is EVIL!
Anyway, the fair/honest thing to do now is to pay the company for the work they did - that's justice and fairness...but certainly not the $1.5bn that they're demanding. Where did they do work of $1.5bn?
