Hello nairalanders, Am a graduate of criminology and security studies. During this lockdown I believe we can add to our knowledge, instead of sitting down doing nothing. I want us to discuss exhaustively on security. Pls let's brainstorm.

What is security? Security can be said to be, when acquired value is free from threat.
However it is required that we understand value ,or what is valuable before we can fully understanding what is security.

VALUE: Value of security is not far-fetched, from it layman meaning. However value are the things that are dear to us and also have huge importance in our day to day activities, such as,life, properties, integrity, the state sovereignty, psychological well being and even our quality of life(welfare).

It's should be bear in mind,for security to be meaningful either in research or practical it is important to have a referent object however it must also noted that security is a relative concept. Before ulman argued that environmental security should be included as parts of security problematic, it wasn't seen as security problem.

Here are the fundamental question to be consider during security conceptualisation .
1. Security for what
2. Security for whom
3. security by what means
4. Security at what cost.

A went to B restaurant to eat, after eating he realise that he had forget to bring the purse with him. Sometimes later the owner of the restaurant demands money , for the food he had consume he couldn't pay, so he narrated how he forgot his purse at home and promise to bring the money to the owner of the restaurant in 30 minutes time.
