Thousands of Nigerians are currently stranded due to the prolonged shutting of the NIMC since the beginning of the Covid-19 battle in the country. To make matters worse, the FG, yesterday announced that an additional 2 weeks will be added to already displeasing lock-down as many are yet to have the NIN captured and printed.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the situation is a bit precarious for most people as the National Identity Management Commission has been too slow in the issuance of both the NIN temporary slip and the card. For some (including myself) registration has been done years ago, yet the collection date is still unknown.

The DG of the NIMC Engr. Aliyu A. Aziz, should enjoin his commission in commencing operations and employ social distancing so as to enable the thousands of Nigerians whose lives have been negatively affected since the March 24th public notice to suspend operations nationwide.
