Help Advice On My Keke Business & Tracker by Impostor: 12:54am On May 21, 2020 |
Hello everyone, We all know how this country is now. I have a job with a fair Salary but in Nigeria you can't rely on salary if you really want to live well. I know a guy who uses his car for Uber after work and makes about a 100k by the side apart from his salary. People are hussling in order to cash in on the economy. I have always like transport business but Nigerians are generally very untrustworthy and wicked when it comes money. If you think I am lying, simply borrow your neighbor/friend money and see if they return it without a fight. Now to my reason for posting. I have been asking Keke drivers questions and also doing my research. From my findings, it is a very lucrative business, if you can get a good driver. I want to start this business, get the Keke and give someone to ride. They pay 3k/day but I am concerned about the safety of the Keke as someone gave his Keke to a driver and the man disappeared with the Keke till today. My intention is to start with one Keke and then expand to 10 gradually. I don't have the money right now but will raise the money for one then raise for the second then continue until 10 with time. I will try to mordernize the business by including Keke as private taxi, delivery and normal mass transport. Now the issue is that I will be using people and since Nigerians are generally insincere with anything money, I would really need to put trackers in the keke so as to be sure. Does anyone have personal experience with CHEAP and effective trackers. The key word is cheap & affordable & reliable trackers that I can buy? Please I really need advice on this. I also intend to grow the business into interstate buses and mini trucks/tiper for carrying goods. 3 Likes |

My advice for you is to look into hire purchase, if you ask a driver to deliver 3k per day the maintenance will be ur head and if any unforseen circumstances happen u will still bd one to bear it. As for hire purchase, the driver pays you for a fixed amount you both will agree on. currently Keke napep is around 700,000+ some expenses like plate number reg let's say 730,000 u can hire it out for 1,050,000. The driver owns the Keke after paying up and with that he will drive the Keke with sense since he knows he will bd one to own it after paying up. 1,050,000-730,000= 320,000 that's fair enough 5 Likes |

I will not advice u to do this kind of business! Glad u already know humans are untrustworthy They will spoil your keke for u & bring it back If u are not going to be riding yourself, such business is not advisable. |

sulaimon22: I was advised to go for fairly used Keke instead of brand new. That is between 200k to 500k. Those fairly of 500 are some months old and can really serve. A Keke rider suggest upper fairly used or brand new. Reason, it may take too long to get back 1,050,000. |

sulaimon22: I support this idea... Put ur keke on hire purchase, some of the keke riders balance weekly, open a current account for the money when it gets to 700k buy another and put it out and the cycle goes on. Remember the 320k is ur profit. 2 Likes |

Knox123: Good idea but I don't think I will go for brand new one. It will be easier for someone to balance for a sound fairly used than new one. |

Impostor: I don't think they do hire purchase on fairly used Keke, i might be wrong thou. however if fairly used Keke is what u want to opt for I'll advice you to install a tracker on the Keke so they won't run your business down. on the other hand, you can try POS Business, heard it's profitable. 1 Like |

What if keke is finally outlawed in all states of Nigeria? What will become of you? Transport business is problematic. The average Nigerian is very wicked only little number with a good heart, even with hire purchase, the stories and excuses for default never ends. If you are not free to supervise and be in the system, its better you keep your money in some kind of fixed investment. |

Hello, I am happy you are considering going into the transportation business because that is my favorite business. It is very rewarding if you know exactly the principles of doing the business. I have a Keke transport company in Bayelsa state. I have been in it for some years now and will encourage you to go into it. I wrote a comprehensive and practical guide on how to start a transportation business in Nigeria here https://www.relaxedmode.com/?s=transport+business. Impostor: 1 Like |

If you are not the one that will manage it, please and please don't do it. You can only try hire purchase. I speak from experience 1 Like |

sulaimon22: Yeah I have heard about this POS business. I will investigate it more. excanny: Please what type of fixed investment? I also thought about Keke ban & the wicked attitude of Nigerians when money is involved. I will still be doing more investigations as to what one can do that does not require so much capital. |

izicode1: Good write up but trust me nobody will call you so you don't kill/scam them. Nigeria has thought Nigerians to be wiser than calling people online for investment. Do your transport business on your own and stop looking for people to invest in your business online. |
