DAME JUDITH AMAECHI REJOICES WITH MUSLIM FAITHFULS AS THEY MARK EID-EL- FITRI

The wife of the Transportation Minister, Dame Judith Amaechi has felicitated with Muslim faithfuls in the country on the occasion of this year's Eid-el- fitri celebrations.

She charged the Ummah to draw from the exemplary lifestyle of peace, humility and sacrifice as taught by the Prophet. She also urged them to continue to pray for the nation especially in this period of the global health pandemic.

Speaking through the President, Rivers Women Association of Nigeria (RSWAN), Mrs Helen Odum, Mrs Amaechi in the spirit of the season, donated a hundred and thirty) bags of rice, thirty cartons of indomie, 10 cartons of tin tomatoes with stipends as palliatives to cushion the effects of the current lockdown which has affected the livelihood of daily earning households.

Receiving the gift items, the Acting State Women Leader of APC, Mrs Beatrice Dappa Amobi thanked the wife of the Transportation Minister for her generosity even in the face of the global economic downturn. She promised to handover and supervise the distribution of the palliatives to the Muslim women in the state beyond party affiliations.

The brief ceremony was witnessed by Hon Mrs Nancy Stephens-Ijaopo (RSWAN Special Adviser, Political) Mrs Agusta Beke , Adviser on General duties, Ms Helen Okwu secretary RSWAN and Hajia Rabi, representative of Muslim women in Rivers state. Alhaji Aleru chief Iman of Mallams in Rivers state and other senior members of the Muslim community.
