Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, the leader of the Marlian movement on Monday announced a free online concert for his fans.

The singer was scheduled to take place on Saturday, saying, “Marlian Day celebrates our freedom and resilience through the daily challenges facing us in Nigeria and most recently during the COVID-19 crisis

“Most especially the heroic frontline workers making personal sacrifices daily on behalf of Nigeria and humanity”.

Naira Marley, 26, said he’ll bring the live concert experience from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to his fans at home.

Fans are required to subscribe to the singer’s YouTube channel and the Facebook page of Gidi Fest for being a part of the concert.

His live online concert will feature ‘Soapy,’ ‘Tesumole’ hit tracks, and ‘Opotoyi’ Marlians anthem.

It will also feature special guest appearances from WurlD and Zlatan alongside artists from Marlian Music, Zinolesky, Moh Bad, and Cblvck.

Following the COVID-19 lockdown, the organizers of the show say that social media and online platforms have become a valuable tool for artists to connect with Its fans.

Examples include the Canadian rapper, the live social distance tour by Tory Lanez that took place earlier this month, and the Music for Hope by Andrea Bocelli: Live from the Duomo in Milan , Italy.

The year 2019 was undoubtedly the breakout year for Naira Marley as his no-belt-wearing ‘Marlian’ fanbase turned out in droves on his first ever concert in Nigeria for their self-appointed head.

Marlian Fest, which held in December, brought Victoria Island and its environs to a standstill as Marlians literally shut down the Eko hotel venue.
