The one that pained me the most is the Lagos state beautiful motto (centre for excellence) that they have just dashed the kangaroo establishments that won't see the light of the day lrt alone excel. |

Proffwhyhurry12: Exactly bro. But our government is well known for formulation of good policies and but wack implementation and embezzlement (siphoning). Is it that no allocation is going to National institute of research or centre for research in the first place? If there is, how much is it, and how is it spent? Some of our leaders (both political, academic among others) are rogue. jboixxx: May you be blessed brother. Our government should understand that a nation works not because of how numerous the policies its leaders made are, but how judicious they are carried out. Fewer policies formulated but better implementation. I gave up to realities of governance in nigeria after the fg announced its intention of creating more higher institutions of learning when the already established ones are hampered by funds, their qualities subpar and their graduates largely unemployed. Only we can save ourselvess bro 3 Likes |

Our lecturers, are very lazy and will use the money to build houses, rather than build their knowledge and keep on giving student archaic backdated knowledge. 1 Like |

Gordieshegz:You're very correct implementation of good policy is always a problem in Nigeria and don't be surprised if they eventually implement this by 2030. Of course they'll still embezzle part of it. Is inside our gene irrespective of tribe May you be blessed brother. I like how these people are doing things that should have been done decades ago like they're wonderful new ideas that just came right out someone's dreams. Fiction, that's what this is. Pure fiction. Someone should follow up and report back after 1 year |

In Chemistry there are some equipment we cannot maintain because of our power supply, like the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), TEM, HGTC, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Machine NMR. Power must not seize from these machines from the day of installation otherwise they will pack up. The only institute that I know that was able to maintain them for some years was able to install a very efficient inverter system. But even inverter dey spoil now. 1 Like |

whyteteeth:LOL Chemistry is not all about Acid + Base = Salt + Water. There was a time I did a research on effect of trivalent cation doped hydroxyapatite, the SEM imaging was even the first thing required to check for the change in morphology between the pure and doped hydroxyapatite. This is a branch of material chemistry and can still be used in other branches as well. 1 Like |
