Since the take over of Chelsea football club by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich in 2013, they have sacked so many coaches, more than any other top four in the premier league.

This list contains coaches sacked by Chelsea’s owner since he bought the club.

1.Claudio Raineri – May 2004

Ranieri’s days were numbered under Roman Abramovich, he was the first coach the Russian billionaire sacked when he took over the club.The Italian manager was at helm when Abramovich arrived at Stamford Bridge.

After heavy spending in the transfer window, he was sacked having led Chelsea to the second place in the league and the Semi finals of the UEFA champions league and facing continuous prejudice about his job.

2.Jose Mourinho – September 2007

After the departure of Raineri in 2004, Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho was appointed and established himself as a Chelsea hero, winning the league title back-to-back in his first two seasons, one FA Cup and two League Cups. His departure only a month into his fourth season by ‘mutual consent’ was not forseen.

3.Avram Grants – May 2008

Avram Grant, a friend of Chelsea’s owner was appointed as a technical director in the summer of 2007 and was made manager out of a discussion of opposing opinions after Mourinho’s departure, he lasted only one season.He had the best winning percentage among any of Abramovich”s sacked coaches which saw Chelsea finish second and lose in the Champions League final to Manchester United.
