The Vice Chairman, Eket Action Committee on Covid-19, Mr. Ekanem Willie has commended the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for the state-of-the-art 300 bed space intelligence isolation center constructed to handled Covid-19 cases in Ituk Mbang, Uruan, Akwa Ibom State.

Mr. Willie made the commendation during the sensitization tour of Villages across Okon Development Ward One in Eket by the Eket Action Committee on Covid-19.

The former Vice Chairman of Eket Local Government applauded Governor Emmanuel for his quick intervention to help curb the spread of the virus by constructing the magnificent structure within 41 days.

He noted that with such world class facility, Akwa Ibom State will serve as a tourist haven for post Covid-19.

According to the renowned media practitioner,
"Governor Udom Emmanuel has once again set the pace for leadership by nurturing and implementing the idea of setting up a world class health facility to help fight the spread of the current pandemic ravaging the entire world. The Governor by this action has once again in his usual manner taken Akwa Ibom State to the Africa and the world."

"This isolation center is simply the best in Africa and the Governor deserves all the accolades for building such a magnificent structure within such a short time frame."

Acknowledging the Works Commissioner's contribution in fulfilling the Governors dream, he said: "Akparawa Ephraim Inyang over the years, has proven that he is a perfect fit for his assigned office. He has diligently and with humility supervised and helped interpret the Governor's infrastructural needs for the state, this isolation center is not an exception."

He lauded the Chairman Eket Local Government Council, Mr. Frank Archibong, for being the first and only council boss to set up a local Action Committee against the novel COVID-19 pandemic, while appreciating Eket sons and daughters at home and the Diaspora that have contributed immensely by mobilizing funds to help sensitize the public while providing palliatives to vulnerable members of the Society.

Mr. Willie enjoined citizens to adhere to Government directives on possible preventive measures against the Pandemic.

Recall that Mr. Frank Archibong had set up a Local Action Committee on Covid-19 headed by Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu with the mandate of raising funds through renowned sons and daughters of Eket Origin in Nigeria and the Diaspora, to help sensitize the populace while equally donating palliatives to vulnerable people across all wards and Villages in Eket, an action that has so far recorded huge success.
