Abia House of Assembly Lauds President Buhari for Autonomy Granted to State Legislature and Judiciary

The 7th Abia State House of Assembly has lauded President Muhamadu Buhari for signing the Executive Order 10 granting financial autonomy to State Legislature and Judiciary, describing the move as a very important watershed in the democratic evolution of the country.

Speaking on the issue at plenary session held today at the Assembly Complex in Umuahia the Abia State capital, the Lawmakers in their respective contributions said the signed Executive Order will strengthen democracy in Nigeria.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, 22nd May, 2020 signed Executive Order 10 of 2020 granting financial autonomy to State Legislature and Judiciary.

They expressed support to the President and commended him for signing the Executive Order 10 of 2020 in compliance with Section 121(3) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), saying "this will help to deepen our collective resolve to run a truly democratic society at all levels".

As if they have anything meaningful to contribute to the development of the state or its institutions

But this is a PDP house of assembly..thought PDP was going to contest this in court?.

Igbo's are presently President Buhari's die hard loyalists.

Is Abia state not part of biafran state? I'm not getting it.

In Nigeria, I don't laud anything until when it become perfectly implemented. A lot of good gestures have been made in the past but Nigerians will always be Nigerians.

I just pray this will not serve as avenue for state legislators to intimidate the governor forever. One rich god father can just go in and impeach a serving governor even when he is innocent. Nigeria matter tire me I swear.

Abia State House of Assembly the Present Speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is doing marvelously well, they have projected the State House of Assembly to the entire World, this is laudable. Kudos to them
