Peace Corps Of Nigeria Bayelsa state Command received King of Nollywood today





The king of Nollywood Elaweremi P Elaweremi paid Peace Corps of Nigeria Bayelsa state commandant a solidarity visit as part of activities marking her 22nd anniversary.

The Nollywood actor who is popularly called the king of Nollywood commended the commandant for the extra ordinary leadership role played in ensuing peace and tranquillity is in place especially the way and manner they operated at the popular tombia Round about recently Bayelsa state.
The Corps shared Nose masks and hand sanitizers among so many other things to market women both at the popular Tombia etegwe market, Swali Market and Okaka Kpansia Market in the Yenagoa Metropolis as part of the Covid19 Pandemic.

Elaweremi prayed for the Peace Corps of Nigeria to be fast put in place to assist other security agencies to permanently restore peace in Nigeria.

In his response the Bayelsa state Commandant Michael ware-ebi Ogbomah was overwhelmed receiving the Nollywood actor with hundreds of Quality Movies stressing that his visit will further strengthen the coexistence between the entertainment industry and the Corps.

The entertainment industry which is the largest employers of labour in Nigeria is one very important sector using both movies and music to preach peace in the Country and beyond.

Commandant Michael ware-ebi Ogbomah Carefully explained some of the Aims and objectives of the Peace Corps Of Nigeria which include:

to enlist, mobilise, train, orientate and provide gainful employment for the youths in order to develope them as supporting agents of social order, by providing a second line of public safety.

He said it is to serve as a think -tank and engage in educating residents of every community on security and safety measures peculiar to their neighborhood;

The commandant also said that it is to uphold a bottom-up surveillance through monitoring and observation and to detect, collate, analyse and transmit intelligence data on matters that may likely cause breach of peace and security within the neighborhood; and transmit same to the appropriate security agency for pre-emptive action; also to engage in peace education, Mediation and conflict Resolution in order to advance the cause of peace-building, Reconciliation and Conflict Transmission in all communities in Nigeria.

A well discipline and decent organization. The way and manner they discharge their duty is so commendable. I pray, may PMB sign their bill this time around.
