*Covid-19 Lockdown: Zimuzo Foundation Extends Distribution of Food Items & Cash gifts to over 200 Widows & Orphans across 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State:*

A Humanitarian and Non Governmental Organisation known for Philanthropy, Zimuzo Foundation has continued to distribute food items and Cash to widows and orphans across 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra State to cushion the effects of  the COVID-19 lockdown in the state.

Beneficiaries of the food items and Cash were drawn from Each of the Local Government Areas of Anambra State.

The Founder and Benefactor of the Foundation, Chief Dr George Moghalu said the gesture was necessitated by the need to support the less privileged and those who relied on daily earnings for their source of livelihood during the period.

“We are distributing these food items to ensure that those who cannot afford daily meal as a result of the ongoing lockdown are taken care of.

“And we are particular about the widows and orphans in the villages, that is why we are visiting them at their various homes to have a first hand knowledge of what they are passing theiugh and how to help them because most of them are daily earners, most of them do not have any means and it might be hard for them to make both ends meet during this lockdown,” Chief Dr Moghalu said.

Chief Moghalu also said that His Foundation will soon start training our Widows and Orphans in the State in various Skill Acquisitions and He want to encourage our widows and Orphans to seek an alternative livelihoods by engaging in skills acquisition such as agriculture, sewing, trading that will provide them with a source of livelihood for themselves and their children in the future.

The recipients were full of joy and said the gesture would reduce the hardship on the them caused by the lockdown, as well as provide food for  their families. They also commended the efforts of the foundation and Chief Dr George Moghalu for his usual and timely intervention to the women especially widows and orphans. They prayed to God to continue to bless, guide and Protect Chief Dr Moghalu and his family.

The highlights of the palliatives is the Visitation of the homes of these Widows and Orphans drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas by the Secretary of the Foundation and Presentation of Cash Gifts and 10kg of Rice to each Household. About 18 Local Government Areas have been covered.
