This is what revolution is all about. Without the fear of arrest or termination, everyone is protesting in their own little way to make a statement and bring about change. They are continuing the traditions of former civil rights flag bearers like Nelson Mandela, Gandhi and Dr Martin Luther King to name just a few. But you know who you won't see in these protests going on in America? You won't see Africans participating. Somehow these Africans living in the diaspora think they are not part of the struggle of the Black man. They've been brainwashed to believe they are even superior to the Black Americans and they look down on them and call them "akata." These Africans forget that it is because of the civil rights movements from the 50's -80's that earned them the right to even gain access into America. They don't realize that by embracing Black Americans and joining hands to eradicate the ills of social injustice, inequality and oppression, they sooner or later they and their children may suffer the same fate.
I applaud this bus driver and every peaceful protester that took to the streets to make their voice heard. They should not stop until real changes has been made in every police department in their country. As Nigerians we should learn from these guys in bringing about change in our country, one for all and all for one.
