COVID-19: Gov Yahaya Bello Orders Lockdown Of Local Government In Kogi State by Newsbreakers: 10:29pm On Jun 01, 2020
There has been a lot of controversy in Kogi state lately. This is because of the announcement of two index cases of COVID-19 in the state by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC). The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, rejected those results because he believed they were dubious.

The two index cases are said to be a male community leader and his son from Kabba/Bunu local government area. The governor maintained that the state is "COVID-19 free" and that the NCDC "dubiously allocated index cases". Then, he felt the need to take precautionary measures because of the "obvious move to spread the virus" in the state.
