Sokoto state has recorded an incredible success in the fight against corona virus disease in Nigeria, as the state discharge all it 101 isolated patients from it isolation centers.

This was disclosed by the Sokoto state commissioner for health who is also the chairman of the Sokoto state task force committee on covid19, Dr. Ali Inname, during the state press briefing in Sokoto, on June 5, 2020.

Dr. Ali Inname, said all the 101 isolated corona virus patients have been discharged from the state health facilities From 8 Local government area.

According to him, the state recorded 14 deaths, noted that the index case was recorded on April 19, with 731 samples collected, while 655 contacts completed the 14 days of follow up.

He added that, the state committee received and investigated about 839 corona virus cases related alerts.

The committee will not relent on it efforts as there are still test samples pending and all suspected covid19 patients will be tested: inname said.

He urged Sokoto state residents to continue to patronise as service delivery had already resume in recongnistion of the fact that the health care had declined owning to the corona virus pandemic.

Furthermore, he advised that everyone should observe government safety gudidlines of wearing face mask, constant hand washing or use of an alcohol based hand sanitizer and maintain social distancing.
