CONMEBOL Copa América is the main men’s football tournament contested among national teams from CONMEBOL and was founded in 1916 with the name South American Football championship, It’s the oldest international football competition in the world

.The competition determines the champion of South America out of 12 or 16 contestants.

2.Argentina – 14 times..

Argentina have hosted the Copa America the most times including the inaugural and they are one of the most successful teams in the tournament.They won the Copa America in the following years(1921, 1925, 1927, 1929, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1955, 1957, 1959, 1991, 1993)and were runner up also 14 times in 1916, 1917, 1920, 1923, 1924, 1926, 1935, 1942, 1959, 1967, 2004, 2007, 2015 and 2016.



3.Brazil – 9 times

Brazil are regarded as one of the most successful teams in the Copa America and also the most successful in the World Cup ever since inauguration.The 2019 winners of the tournament have also won the trophy 8 more times in 1919, 1922, 1949, 1989, 1997, 1999, 2004 and 2007 and have also lost in the final 11 times.
