Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Information, Sir Charles Udoh has said, Governor Udom Emmanuel is opening new Vista of business opportunities for the State with the construction of the 21 storey smart building.

The architectural masterpiece located in the Central Business District of Uyo, the 9th tallest Building in Nigeria was conceived by Governor Emmanuel as a bait to attract International Oil Companies, IOCs and any other known world class industries to Akwa Ibom, to locate and invest in the state.

The Information Commissioner Sir Charles Udoh who was speaking while leading the State Government Information Management Team on a on-the-spot assessment tour of the 21 storey smart building, Wednesday June 10, said government is geared at opening new window of economic opportunities for the state with the smart building office complex as IOCs which had hitherto complained of lack of befitting and suitable office accommodation for their headquarters in the state, will now be encouraged to relocate to Akwa Ibom State for business.

Reiterating that, the 21 storey building which is completely ICT complaint, is a clear indication of Governor Emmanuel’s determination to actualize his infrastructural consolidation and expansion agenda, Sir Charles Udoh disclosed that, already 5 highbrow international companies have indicated their interest for tenancy of the complex.

The State Spokesman emphasized that, the 21 storey smart building is one the many reasons Akwa Ibom state has become the preferred destination for investors in Nigeria coupled with with friendly investment policies of government including the provision of enabling environment, security, power and most importantly, a warm, peaceful and hardworking citizenry.

"When IOCs and other international business organizations relocate their headquarters to Akwa Ibom State, that will automatically translate into increased Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, job and wealth creation opportunities as well as poverty alleviation for the people of the state", Sir Udoh concluded.

Conducting the Information Boss Sir Charles Udoh and his team round the complex, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh who was accompanied on the tour by the Permanent Secretary, Engr Richard Ekpe, the Site Engr. Dougukan and Project consultant, Arc Ekanwan Alale, said the 21 storey smart building will be thrown open for business by December of this year, 2020.

The facility tour of government projects continues as the Akwa Ibom State Government Information Management Team led by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Charles Udoh heightens momentum on awareness creation on the giant strides of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the past 5 years of his administration.

One thing I like him is that he has been able to curtail cultism in the state.
