The League of Registered Political Parties led by Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday has called on Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun not to betray the confidence the State House of Assembly reposed in him by the accelerated approval of the 250bn credit facility requested by his government.

Oginni in a statement made available to newsmen in Abeokuta demanded that the N250 Billion Loan should be judiciously put into use by the Abiodun-led administration.

The chairman of LRPP also urged the governor to be accountable in the spending of the credit facility.

He also advised the governor to probe the distribution of palliative in the state.

He added, “We commended the good intention of the Ogun State Assembly led by Hon.Kunle Oluomo on the accelerated approval of the loan to bring unprecedented development to the nooks and crannies of Ogun State.

“However, we are worried with the Prudence and Accountability records of Gov.Dapo Abiodun’s led Executives.

“The records of Gov Abiodun’s aides in the management of Covid 19 Fund and Palliatives Distribution’s are questionable! We are still waiting for the public display of Covid 19 Accounts as Promised by the Governor as well as the Probe of the distribution of Tax Payer’s money at Governor’s Office to APC Party faithfuls in the guise of Covid 19 relief packages.

“We are hereby calling on Governor Abiodun not to betray the Confidence the Ogun State House of Assembly reposed in him by the accelerated approval of the loan.

“We hereby demands for transparency and Accountability in the management of the loan and other Ogun State financial transaction.

“We also call for the completion of all road projects abandoned by the last administration recognising the fact that Governance is a continuous process."

The group also called for even distributions of developmental projects across the three senatorial districts in the state.

He further said, “In the same vein, even distributions of developmental projects across the 3 senatorial Districts should be religiously adhere to without sentiments.

“Conclusively, we are charging Ogun State House of Assembly to be alive to their oversight functions. Every Member of the House must ensure that every Constituency benefited from developmental projects associated with the N250Billion Naira Loan.

“Recognising the fact that this N250 Billion Naira Loan is higher than the total sum of the loan got by the previous administrations of Aremo Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun in the span of 20 years, we are therefore demanding monthly publication of Ogun State Financial Transaction in at least 3 Major Newspapers by the Ministry of Finance."
