Nepotism And Tribalism: The Bane Of Nigeria by Ekpeitut: 9:57am On Jun 16, 2020
Ever wondered why in a country where a certain tribe heads more than 85% of government agencies, the armed forces and other parastatals, we are still witnessing unprecedented levels of corruption and widespread insecurity? Nigeria should be an eldorado since at the helm of affairs it's man_know_man and "he's my brother", right ?

The answer isn't far fetch my brethren. Merit, fairness and justice will always triumph over nepotism and tribalism. If these wern't true then Northern Nigeria ought to be the most peaceful and economically bustling region. This morning I saw a post with Katsina state government lamenting about how he's failed his people and I couldn't help but wonder why can't the north with all they control rally round and put an end to this menace of terrorism and banditry in their region? Strange right?

However, this is hardly strange because when you give in to nepotism and tribalism you relegate those who are competent and put people who have absolutely no ounce of experience, moral conviction, motivation and the requisite educational qualification in charge of your affairs. The result of this action will most definitely run down any human endeavour or business.

Well the writing is on the wall, tribalism and nepotism has no place in the 21 century, it has failed and will continue failing. We are a vast and multicultural society let harness this because leaning to tribalism and nepotism is the reason the president can't rein in on the service chiefs, it's the reason the entire nation is facing insecurity, poor infrastructures and policy implementation.

They north are united, say united being in power

when a southern man was there ,how united was the south to their Presidency..

Orji uzor ,Victor Attah,ibori ,not to mention south west governor ,all push Atiku to contest against Obasanjo during the end of his first tenure..

They same scenario play out with Jonathan,and his fiercest critics being IBORI and South media.

Apart from ihejirike trying to wipe out BokO haram what other significant thing can the south recognized him for?

Buratai is building Army university in his state

Have you ask IBOK Ette how far,?

The insincerity being experience by the north is chicken coming home to roast

That's the result of arming the youth ,

North=Bandit

South=Cultism
