[b][/b]Melanie was a single mother of five children. She had a tough time raising five black kids who all lived in the same apartment with her. Melanie would go for a full week shopping at Poundworld and end up embracing a ration system that would ensure it lasts beyond seven days for the family. Fast forward to 11 years after her son joined the youth academy, Melanie would end up becoming the mother to one of the most exciting young forward in the history of the Premier League. Her son, Marcus Rashford, has made 133 and 38 appearances for Manchester United and England respectively.

In 2019, Rushford's net worth was estimated at about £65m by a British finance magazine, Spears. He signed a new contract in 2019 with Manchester United worth £200,000 per week. This would amount to about £10m annually- net bonuses and other earnings from commercials or endorsements.

How many times do we hear people say that what doesn't kill you would make you stronger? Melanie started off as a single parent to five kids- all holed up in a small apartment. She doesn't need those £1 products anymore. She doesn't need the free school meals voucher to keep her family going. She strived hard enough to raise a son that every mum would be proud of. A good number of black kids end up in jails or lose their lives to drugs and cult-related activities at a young age. Melanie wouldn't allow this to happen to her children. She dug her foot on the ground and took responsibility for raising her children without using her condition as a single mother as an excuse.

I might not know what you are going through now as a single mother but be rest assured that just like Melanie, life will definitely put a big smile on your face. What you deserve is a reward worth more than double of what you have been through. Keep your eyes on the mark. Everything will make sense someday.
