Plateau state government on Wednesday shut down a private hospital after 17 staff tested positive for COVID-19.

The hospital which is known as Rayfield Medical center is located in Rayfield, Jos South Local Government Area of the state.

The commissioner for health, Dr Nimkong Lar, who made the disclosure in Jos told journalists that two patients who were being managed in the hospital had developed COVID-19 virus.

“Screening of primary and secondary contacts revealed that 17 staff of the hospital have tested positive for the virus and are also being attended to by the state ministry of health officials.

“Unfortunately, we lost one of them.” The commissioner however said as of of Wednesday, 29 health workers have tested positive to the virus in the state.

The commissioner further called on residents of the state not to panic as government is on top of the situation, calling on all and sundry to obey government directives against the disease.

May be they went to church last Sunday. Market, motor packs, are in operation, no sanitizer, no fumigation, no face mask but place of worship is given tighter measure.

And the NCDC SCAM-DEMIC continues . Covid-19 is a serious business in Nigeria. My grouse is, the money is not getting to the people declared positive. Chai!

The government should provide PPEs to health workers in our hospitals. The rate of infection in the hospital's is becoming alarming. It is not enough to be addressing us everyday on the number of infected, recovered and dead persons. These men and women in our hospitals need to be protected even their allowances are not paid . We really need to face reality in this country and stop living in denial.

Very interesting picture....but the truth is, in the USA , changing laws is not that easy

1.Let's say the Democrats want to pass a law on police brutality. It has to go to a comittee, which means long discussions, then it has to pass a vote...

2.And for it to become a law, it has to go through the Senate...which is dominated by......Republicans.

3.And even if it passes the Senate, the President can veto it.

4.Also, the problem with the Police in the US is that there is no unified Police force , there are state police forces, and even forces for the Local government areas (counties to a US citizen)....and policing is really a state issue, not a federal issue...which means laws at state levels...which is another process

5.And we haven't mentioned that before all this, there has to be some means of involving the public.

Yes, politicans should 'do something'...but it isn't as simple as signing a piece of paper. Sure, Trump, in fairness, signed an executive order on police reform...but that's just a stopgap measure till something more permanent is in place.
