The chairman of League of Registered Political Parties in Ogun state, Olaposi Oginni has finally dumped the Labour Party of Nigeria to become the Chairman of the New Nigeria People's Party.

Oginni who was a strong member of Labour Party before crisis started in the party told newsmen that he is no more interested in the affairs and activities of the Party.

He said he has resigned as a member of Labour Party for a very long time, adding that he was only waiting for the right time to join a better party.

He added, "I have resigned my membership of Labour Party very long time ago. I have been the chairman of the League of Registered Political Parties as far back as February. I am the new chairman of NNPN.

Speaking on his emergence as the new chairman of NNPP, Oginni said the new party would stand as opposition party in the state that would be against all gangsterism of the present government.

He maintained that the party will change the narrative of governance in the state.

Oginni vowed that the party will take over power in 2023.

According to him, New Nigeria Peoples Party from its name is new in all ramifications because we want a new Nigeria. It is a party that is looking forward to change the narrative system of this country and in particular in Ogun state.

He further said, "NNPN has arrived to take over the reign of government in 2023. We are here to stop the gangsterism of government to put Ogun state for sale.

"We are ready to work and make sure that NNPN take over the government of Ogun state by 2023."

Oginni however urged politicians of repute to join the party for the development of the state.

He added, "there is room in New Nigeria Peoples Party, come and join us."

Earlier, the chairman Southwest region of NNPP, Comrade Babatunde Oke vowed that the party will produce the next president.

Oke while handing over the party in Ogun state to Oginni said the state must set up machinery in all the three senatorial districts.

He further said, "you have the mandate from us to constitute a State Working Committee and that will spread across the three senatorial district in Ogun state.

"No district must be left out, this is the standard of the party. There must be equitable and even distribution of offices. We don't just need people, we need people who have the mindset of winning, bring in people who are ready to work.

"Whatever you need, we will support you. By your credentials, we strongly believe you are capable and you are coming from different backgrounds.

"I know you are a democrat and you will do justice to even distribution of position."

The NNPN chieftain however implored members of the party to support the new chairman.
