Good day nairalanders, I just got a Toyota Yaris 2007 used a while in Nigeria (unregistered). Is it advisable to discontinue the previous oil (Adrenaline) used in servicing the car.

What's the oil weight of the previous oil? The recommended oil weight for Toyota yaris 2007 is 5w 30.

If 20w 50 was used in it for a long time, Either you continue using it like that or go a weight lower like 10w 40. If there is no issue, you can then try 5w 30.

But let a good mechanic check your engine for sludge first.
