The Holy bible says that 'obiedence is better than sacrifice'. Therefore It is very importantl that we live our lives according to Gods word so we can avoid mistakes.
The recent happenings in the 2020 Edo governorship race has helped us to see the true nature of Edo state governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. Few years ago, the Governor came out with the slogan 'Edo money is for Edo people, and cannot be shared'.
However recent drama in Edo state has shown that Edo money has not only been shared but the governor has become a Santa Claus and one can best call him 'Santa Obaseki'.
In just less that two months, the same governor who deceived Edo people that he cannot share money have spent 43.5 million to buy governorship form of the APC and PDP all in a desperate attempt to get a second term in office.
As if that is not enough, the same governor spent 6 billion naira of Edo money in the bid to hijack the PDP governorship ticket at all cost and this is been reported by credible news medium and up till now Gov. Obaseki has not denied the claim.
As a matter of fact the recent statement by the governor of rivers state that Obaseki ambition has been hijacked by tax collectors in the PDP goes to show that the 6 billion naira report may just be a tip spent so far given that same gov obaseki will still have to buy all the PDP delegates overnight and also lobby other aspirants to step down and support him. This we know will not come cheap as politics is a game of interest and PDP is an association of thieves.
Indeed, the 'i will not share money' governor has become a Santa Claus all of a sudden.
Funny enough, if this Gov. Obaseki has sought peace and use humility to settle all internal crises when he was in the APC he will not have become the PDP cash cow that he is today.
Less than half of the money he has spent so far on his futile journey to the PDP would have been used to settle all aggrieved parties in the APC but instead, he thought he was wiser than everyone and refuse to bow to party supremacy.
Another funny part of the whole thing is that the same Obaseki is now appointing PDP members as special advisers as a bargain to get their support on his reelection. This goes to show that the governor is clueless.
Why did he not give such positions to the aggrieved APC members to calm the situation down instead of demolishing their houses and insulting them?.
One thing is sure, those Obaseki appointees from the PDP will betray him and pocket his money. This is because majority of them believe that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will win the election.
