Nigeria’s government sent at least 32 trucks and buses filled with troops yesterday to Jos, the capital of the central state of Plateau where Muslim-Christian fighting has claimed hundreds of lives, ThisDay reported.

The soldiers will replace members of a special task force that has been accused of showing bias while operating in the area, the Lagos-based newspaper said, without saying where it got the information.

President Goodluck Jonathan has decided against imposing a state of emergency in Plateau, ThisDay said, citing a state government spokesman.

More than 200 people have died in sectarian violence in Plateau since multiple bomb blasts in Jos on Christmas Eve killed 80 people, according to New York-based Human Rights Watch. A radical Islamic sect claimed responsibility for the explosions.

the north uses jos city to draw pity from the south and western media to avoid the break up of nigeria. it is geographically impossible to have plateau state in a union with the south because some fulani/hausa live in the north. let be honest with ourself.

and history also tell us that a jos christain  man call Yakubu Gowon from jos was the one who order the killing of 1,000,000 southern igbo christain. it would be hard for the igbo to have   their killers  in a union. this is where the issue stand.

it is geographically impossible.   

the killing in jos is a pity killing  because of fear of break up of nigeria. they do it all the time when ever the north is scared of break up of nigeria so that they can be pity. it is so bad that little children can be killed to avoid break up of nigeria.

How can Plateau be even in any southern Nigeria in case of break up.

Plateau is in the heart of Northern Nigeria not even in the central. Plateau state is sandwitch between Bauchi and Nasarawa States, both with large Hausa/Fulbe and muslim population.

If people think that the crises in Plateau state will precipitate to some form of agitation for secession of the middle belt from the North, they are wrong.

As far as Plateau crises, it is in the best interest of both the Muslims and Christains in Plateau states to bury their hatchets and find a permanent settlement to their problem. Yakubu Gowon knows that. Solomon Lar Knows that. Jonah Jang is just being myopic.
