Over two Saturdays, June 6 and 13, 2020, Unboxed conferences convened YPONLINE, Nigeria’s leading online mentoring forum. On these two Saturdays, 80 industry leaders engaged and initiated a mentoring relationship with over 500 young professionals.

This edition had the privilege of having the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo sharing the opening remarks and setting the tone for the event. As he said “ this is a forum of boundless opportunities and possibilities.”

Convening this event online afforded Unboxed Conferences the opportunity to draw mentors from Nigeria, Germany, United Kingdom, Swaziland and South Africa. Some of our mentors included Mrs. Tomi Somefun (MD, Unity Bank), Toye Odunsi (MD, Custodian and Allied Insurance Ltd), Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor (Director, Google West Africa), Folabi Awojobi (country GM, Mondelez International, Swaziland), Niyi Toluwalope, (MD/CEO, eTranzact Plc), Bimbo Manuel (renowned actor), Solape Hammond (SA on SDGS to the Governor of Lagos state) and Major General Ayobami Ibikunle (Commandant, Nigerian Army Ordinance School, Ojo) amongst others.

On both Saturdays, Unboxed conference ran 40 break out rooms. Each room had a mentor with no more than 8 young professionals.

Pearl Ehigimetor, a lawyer and mentee had this to say about YPONLINE “Young professionals do need this kind of reminders from time to time. That they can be more and reach the highest heights and potentials possible within their fields.”

The industry leaders each committed to furthering the mentoring relationship beyond the online event.

YPonline was sponsored by Mascot Insurance Brokers, Octo5 Holdings Limited, Mobihive Technologies Ltd, ETranzact Plc and Redstar Express Plc.
