Breaking:500,000 Npower Beneficiaries To Storm Abuja With Massive Protest On 9th by Digitalfinga: 6:26pm On Jul 04, 2020 |
The 500,000 Beneficiaries of the N-power program will on Thursday 9th July flood the city of Abuja to protest their sudden disengagement from the N-power program amids Coronavirus pandemic without a detailed exit plan or exit package. The N-power program inaugurated by the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration recorded a monumental sum of 500,000 beneficiaries who have been manning the unmanned classrooms, Health Centers and Agricultural extention units across the 774 LGAs of the Federation on a monthly Stipend of N30,000, and are being trained as large workforce for both the public and the private sectors. The design of the N-power program was such that the beneficiaries would through the program be linked to available jobs in both Government and Private Sectors, and some to Entrepreneurship with supports from the Government to further in their future endeavours after their programs as the Government promised not to send them back to the streets. In what appears penutive, the volunteers were suddenly disengaged by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development without a laid down exit plan or exit package, the reason they have spent years in the program as the Federal Government promised not to terminate their engagement without a concrete exit plan so as to reduce youth unemployment and support the plan of our dear President in lifting 1 million Nigerians out of poverty. The N-power beneficiary during the campaign for the 2019 General election recieved a promise from the Federal Government that their PVCs were their tickets to permanent employment, demanding that they re-elect President Mohammadu Buhari to gain sustainability of their program and perfection of the purpose of the program. Among the agitation of the trained N-power Volunteers is for the Federal Government to offer them permanent employment as citizens of their country or provide them with substantial exit package as they can not go hungry with their wives and Children especially now that COVID-19 has dealt with many economies of the world, job market saturated and opportunities too narrowed. 1 Like

I read on the comment section people saying it an empowerment program, now I know Nigerians don't value education, I can remember that there are militant on Niger Delta as a result of Amnesty collecting salary every month and no body ask for Dem to stop the program, but because Npower is not criminal related people are saying the program should stop, I pity this country. 6 Likes |

I wonder what stops or prevents the FGN of reabsorbing or giving these volunteers who are graduates permanency. My bet is because most of the lads are the masses and as such never fit into the plan of the FGN. Nigeria a country where the Rich always oppresses the Poor via poverty as to exploit them 3 Likes |

AutosBay: So they relied on what they were told by those politicians? politcal promises for re-election sake.it seems these people do not know the meaning of politics. What did they do with the money they have been paid for the past two years now. They should think of those who were not lucky to be shortlisted during the process |

er69 post=91384535]I read on the comment ntry.[/quote]Guy apply that same education you had to this situation, fine we all know things are hard, getting a job in this country is not easy aswell. Npower was established mainly to empower youth, not giving them permanent. there was an agreement that bind the beneficiaries and the agency and that agreement was 2years, luckily it was extended for about 3 to 4 years for batch A & B respectively. Now why the protest? for permanent job right? with the little education you've aquired did you see this protest justifiable? some are even saying buhari promised to permanent them during his campaign for 2nd term, i'm sure they are just saying that just to spiced up their point because everyone knows that politicians can promise you heaven and earth just to have their way into office. was there a written agreement partaining to permanency with both party? if there was then fine best of luck to your peaceful protest, but if there wasn't then why the protest? |
