US rapper Kanye West has announced his interest in running for the 2020 US presidential election.

The renowned rapper made the announcement via his official Twitter handle on Saturday night.

He said;
"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future.
I am running for president of the United States," West tweeted around 9 p.m.

The wealthy musician completed the tweet with an American flag emoji, and "#2020VISION." hashtag

West, who officially became a billionaire earlier this year is said to have leaned a lot into politics and he has also had a handful of meetings with president Trump.

West, husband of American media personality, Kimberly Kardashian, is also a singer, songwriter, record producer, composer, entrepreneur and fashion designer and is one of the most acclaimed musicians of his generation.

If west wins the election, that would automatically make kim kardashian the first lady of the US
