President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta for a second term of five years as the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

This was disclosed by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan at plenary when he read Buhari’s letter of request for Danbatta’s screening and confirmation as EVC/CEO of NCC for a second term.

Mr Danbatta, a professor of telecommunications technology, was appointed to the position four years ago by Mr Buhari.

Also, Uwa Sulaiman, the spokesperson for the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ibrahim-Pantami, announced the reappointment in a statement on Friday.
