Covid-19 : The West At The Losing End by Emmanuhel20: 2:05pm On Jul 10, 2020
It not so long that COVID-19 came in it full force to butchered our health system and left it naked in the cold. Since then the Caracas of our health system has become the talk of the day in the loyal and respectable citizens.

I will say that Our Government has tried so well and deserved an applause for deceiving the radical ones in Nigeria till this point for nothing more is expected from a wise fool.

Covid-19 is real. And the rational few in this Nation believed in the realities of the disease. But our Government has cooked up some lovely sweet figures to deceive us all. But we will refuse to be deceived.

The Northerner has the highest rate of poverty in Nigeria, meanwhile the South-west has the lowest rate of poverty in the country... High rate of poverty means :lack of accessibility to proper healthcare which will eventually leads to poor health , inaccessiblility to proper education, light and good water .

And for COVID-19 ,This means that Northern states should experience lower recovery rates because of their inaccessiblility to proper health care, which also implies that high we should expect a high number of underlying health issues from people living in the northern states.

But the opposite is true. The northern states Has a higher rate of recoveries than the west while the east maintained a normal level of recovery With F. C. T with 30% recovery rates and Ebonyi leading with 99% recovery rates . These are the breakdown of the recovery rates of some other states based on the total number of cases and total number of recoveries per states according to the data provided on July 10 by the NCDC.
Kano = 79%
Kaduna =66%
Kastina=68%
Borno=78%
Jigawa= 97%
Zamfara = 93%

While in the West :
Lagos:14.4%
Oyo:52%
Ondo:20%
Osun:40%
Ogun: 65%

In The East:
Akwa-ibom=53%
Abia=66%
Imo=17%
Anambra=61%.

Looking at this percentage, you will noticed that there seems to be a magic happening here with the northerner(the highest ranked in poverty) having the highest recovery rates. Then we need to ask ourselves : Has the Northerners developed an antibody against Covid-19 or Their Hospitals are better equipped for the disease . This low recovery rates in the southwest signals low funds and low equipment for the disease... The government has fold it's hands towards us and opened it to the North... That is an unjust discrimination against the west.. I believed the west deserves better than this. But until we stand up together as one and fight against discrimination then the west will continue to see itself as a dusty rag that is of no good use and no importance to the owner.
