Eleven out of the twelve All Progressive Congress aspirants for the Ondo State Governorship election have petitioned the APC leadership rejecting the indirect mode of primary for the selection of the party’s standard-bearer.

Their decision was contained in a letter titled, “Why Indirect Primary cannot be an option for the Ondo State Governorship Primary Election,” dated 8th July, 2020 and addressed to the APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mai Mala Buni.



The letter which was signed by the eleven aspirants, was made public in Abuja, on Friday.
The aspirants argued that an overwhelming number of party members and aspirants prefer the direct mode of primary.

According to them, the direct mode would be just and fair to all.

The statement read in part, “ Having variously traversed the length and breath of Ondo State, interfacing with party members as aspirants, we can confidently inform you that overwhelming majority of our party members prefer direct primary for the nomination of the party’s candidate for the 2020 Governorship Election. “

One man cannot own a party and declare his personal interest as party interest disorganizing structures of his fellow cofounders in their respective States on allegations of trying to build dynasty while he holds the entire Southwest to ransom. Nature is only trying to balance things out so that 2023 will be fair to all Nigerians be it PDP, APC, AIT or FTC

Oh Wait, Tinubu is responsible for disorganizing Okorocha’s political structure in Imo state, right?

You guys give Tinubu too much credit. Once there is a problem in a state chapter of APC, Tinubu must be behind it.

Almost everyone in Imo state stood against the nepotistic decision of Okorocha to impose his son-in-law on the state but here you are putting all the blame on Tinubu. If Okorocha had acted like a true leader and put the party interest above family and nepotistic interest, he would still be in control of APC in Imo state today. Sadly, it is too late. He should go and pay homage to governor Hope Uzodinma, the leader of the party in Imo state and stop blaming Tinubu for his misfortune.
