This loss means Sheffield United move up to sixth, just four points behind fifth-placed Manchester United. Chelsea remain third but now have a shaky stance as they are within an easy reach for currently-in-form Manchester United. Either Leicester or United will or both will edge over Chelsea if they can get a win in their upcoming games.

After the match, Lampard had this to say: “They were better than us. Physically; in the mind; with the ball. So we lose the game. They were stronger than us. All I could hear were Sheffield United voices. They’re good players, a good team, so if you come here and perform below par, it’s gonna happen. We were too slow with the ball. It’s disappointing.
