Please Help, My Hand.. by happybee: 11:15pm On Jul 13, 2020
Hi Nairalanders,
Please I need you guys help regarding my right hand. I feel pains often in my right hand from the fingers to the wrist to elbow, like it aches me almost every time when I'm doing nothing with my hands and sometimes while working too.
I've tried using drugs like diclofenac, domacin but it all the Sam. Right now as I'm typing, I can still feel pain there.
Please guys, what is wrong with my hand and what drugs should i use?

PS: I work in an office, and I work using my right hand to write.

Thanks in advance.

Stop writing and operating gadgets with your hand for now.. Same thing happened to me.. Drugs couldn't solve it.. Had to massage with neurogenic and made use of my left hand more. Mine subsided after 2 months.

Oh thanks for your contribution.
I don't think that would work though, I can't stop working. I mean stop writing for me means stop working, so how do I survive?
What other means do you think I can go by?
Or that's the only option?

Tor continue then until you damage your nerves.
I did not say you wouldn't write again.
But it should be suspended for a while, that's what a neurologist recommended for me and it worked.. You say you can't stop writing? Who told yah that where I work I could stop writing as well. Reduce your workload shikena, divert to someone else for the main time.. The important thing is to drop that phone or gadget. That is the main antagonist.

How are you sure you share the same diagnosis as her?
Treatment and recommendations differ with different diagnoses, ie they're disease-specific.
Let her see a doctor first for her own condition to be diagnosed.
There are many disease entities that can cause pain in the areas she mentioned, with each having a different treatment modality.

Check studies Oga.. No be by just yearning you have data and Google.. There has been upsurge in such nerve incidence.. Some people's case, it causes outright arthritis. It is due to mobile phones and gadgets.that man always operates everyday.
Witg time if she isn't careful, it will get to the left hand too cos all nerves are connected. And they work in sync.

As I already said, there are many different pathologies that can cause pain in the wrist and hand.
Most of you comment and swear on what you're not trained on.
Your condition may be quite different from hers when you consider the age, sex, occupation, underlying co-morbidities, etc.
And treatment is given in accordance with the diagnosis, and often times, is individualised.
That's why she need to see a doctor first to be properly diagnosed.
I do not need your Google to learn about the disease conditions affecting the hand, as my specialist training has already taken care of that.
To make it worse, you didn't even ask your doctor what he diagnosed you of, as is typical of most Nigerians.
You have to know your own diagnosis first, before you can advise those who share the same diagnosis as your.
In medicine, we treat the diagnosis(the disease itself), and not the symptoms.
Different diseases can present with similar symptoms, but will have different treatment protocols.

I won't be blaming you; the blame should go to the environment where you live.
Is there any regard for sound knowledge and wisdom in your country?
Is there any appreciation for expertise and professionalism in that part of the world where you live?
That's why most of us cannot practice there, where the above are lacking.
Those you called racist appreciate and value free professional advice when they get it from even black folks like us.
I can't even wish to have something like you as my patient, even as you can't afford it.

Dan'uwa the guy is write, just free ya mind and understand his point.

You are also on track about possible cause but her own causes may be different from yours, so she needs diagnosis from a professional and not from you before commencing treatment - this is where you are wrong and the guy write.

I have had similar problems .any times in different part of my upper body and even lower back - I saw doctors and even physiotherapists. But guess what, I figured out the cause by myself cos they couldn't find anything wrong with me. But the questions they asked me and discussions we had made me to start being observant and I discovered the cause. Now I am fine because I made sure I do not put myself in position for a recurrence.

By the way i take exception to that guy castiging the entire country because one person's opinion doesn't sound right to him, so not cool of him.
