There are two methods to go about this: the Paper-Freezer and Salt-Ice-Water methods.

1. Paper-Freezer Method
Now you've bought that 'ordinary' beer -- or whatever drink it is -- from mama Bashira, but you still crave for a cool drink. Even if you put it in your freezer, it will take upto 45 minutes for the drink to cool to your desired taste. You can't afford to wait that long to satisfy your thirst, can you? If 'no' is your answer, then the paper-freezer method might just be your escape route.

Wrap your drink in a wet paper (soft or thin-thick paper), and place it in the freezer.

Note: The refrigerator has two distinct compartment, the refrigerator and the freezer. You are to place the drink wrapped in a mildly wet paper in the freezing compartment, not the refrigerating compartment.

In less than 15 minutes, your drink would have dropped about 2 - 5 degree celsius and chilled enough to quench your burning thirst. Please, be guided not to leave the drink in the freezer beyond 15 minutes, as the drink might start to freeze.

You might be wondering what the science behind this is. So let me give you a succinct explanation on that.

Just like the evaporation process that happens when your sweat cools you, after a dry breeze blows on you, the extremely cool dry air in the freezer causes the moisture on the wet paper by which your drink is wrapped to evaporate, thereby causing a cooling effect on your drink. The workability of this method depends on the thickness of the paper used, and the cooling power of the freezer.

2. Salt-Ice-Water Method
The Paper-Freezer method works best for one's personal use or for a case of no more than 20 bottles, depending on the size of your freezer. What happens if you're having a 'owanbe' party or a friendly picnic and you have to chill more than 2 crates of Coke or Malt in approximately 2 minutes? Then, the Salt-Ice-Water method is what you need.
