I disagree with you concerning Talent,being the least important thing for someone to 'blow' because that is what speaks for you,not your fans,management or record label!
Mayorkun,Justin bieber and other talented artists showcased their talents on YouTube and that alone paved way for them to become famous!
Exposure,hype and fans are very important but talent is more important because it keeps the audience glued to you!
Rap thrives in the USA because it appeals to certain people in the hoods and projects who can relate to it while here in Nigeria,hard core rap cannot survive because in our streets,we only know about Olamide,hh[code][/code],davido,wizkid etc.
So hard core rappers in Nigeria wont thrive.
Laycon is not a hardcore rapper and I don't even know how to classify him because I've never listened to his songs but when I heard him rap in the house,I wasn't impressed and it would be a travesty for me to classify him as a rapper,after listening to hard core rappers like Juvinile,Red man/method man,nas,jazz,mobb deep Rakim,mystikal,Twister and many others...even DAX(a Nigerian based in Canada).
Now,let's talk about hits,making a hit or hits is easier when talent is there.
See Joe boy and fireboy,they kept releasing hits back to back and at some point I was like let them chill for a while...so talent and consistency in the entertainment industry is very important while having the best management comes 2nd while luck comes 3rd!
