Celebrities / I Dont Diss With Songs - Don Jazzy by 5eun: 10:57am On Feb 26, 2015
Mavin boss, Donjazzy,
has denied insinuations
that Reekado Banks’
single, Katapot, was
intended as a “dis”
towards former Mo’Hits
artistes, Dbanj and
Wande Coal.
Mo’hits dissolved in
2012 following a series
of misunderstandings
between co-founders,
Don Jazzy and Dbanj,
Wande Coal, who after
the split joined the
producer’s new label,
Mavin, ended dealings
with Don jazzy in 2014.
Don Jazzy took to
Twitter to deny any
connection between
Katapot, a song by
Reekado Banks one of
his signees on Mavin,
and his former
colleagues.
“If dem like make dem
fire katapot of envy,
throw us bomb of
jealousy, stand dey eye
our progress, Dem no
fit put asunder, I swear
dey cannot stop our
love,” Reekado sang.
Clearing the air,
Donjazzy, in a series of
tweets, stated that
neither Katapot nor Oga
Titus, a song by
another Mavin artiste,
D’prince, was an attack
on Dbanj and Wande.
“Guys, please, enjoy my
songs with an open
mind. The only song I
have done about any
particular person is #
Adaobi. I don’t do diss
song. Thanks,” the
Mavin boss tweeted.
said “#katapot is
actually just a love
song. Just as #ogatitus
is just a funny local
song. Pls let it be just
that, thanks. #SMD.”
He also added that his
former colleagues,
D’banj and Wande Coal
could testify that he
never allowed them do
“diss songs” while they
were together.
