Osinbajo is one of the cleanest politician Naija has produced corruption wise and for now he remains the most competent person to lead Naija forward come 2023. The writer forgot to write about the humiliation the VP was subjected to by the president since before his last medical visit to the UK till date. Removing virtually all the portfolios given to him and rendering him redundant making him unfit to lead over the state in the absence of the president, erasing the popularity he gathered while he was the starboy during the first tenure so as to deprive him of the presidential ticket come 2023. If you ask me dear author, I will say the APC bigwigs are the ones scared of the VP cos the guys star shines like sun and they are looking for every means to kill his star.

The way he (Osinbajo) brought everyone together (including Wike) while acting as president is the ingredient that is really needed in our politics. But the current beneficiaries of the current state of affairs wouldn’t let up.

The way he also handled the National Assembly debacle that ousted the former DSS chief was quite professional and gave some hope to our democracy.

In saner climes, most members of the party (including PMB) and its supporters would be rooting for him to succeed PMB. But no, other mundane considerations are more important (his tribe and religion being chief).

On the other hand, he is definitely not vicious enough to compete favorably for the 2023 presidency. The power blocks, Oligarchs and other opinion leaders here only respect tyrants, and kleptocrats who are unafraid to maintain the status quo of underdevelopment while they continue to complain.

In Nigeria, the serious presidential gladiators take no prisoners in their pursuit of the highest office. They are mostly ruthless, and capable of anything under the sun.

That’s why the GEJ presidency was the best opportunity, and even that eventually got washed up due to inexperience and too much gentlemanliness. Even those that should have been encouraged to do their job properly and without supervision (Deziani, Oduah etc. took undue advantage because they had an amiable president in GEJ.
