The Federal Government’s commitment to rail revitalization is largely towards ensuring diversification of the Nigerian transport system by providing alternative means of moving cargoes that are safer, cheaper, and more convenient.

This assertion was made known by Nigeria’s Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi during an inspection tour to Kogi State to test run the newly mounted coaches on the Itakpe-Warri rail corridor, with a view to assessing its readiness for commercial operations.
