This is the biggest TV show in Nigeria, and it makes me jealous.

I will tell you why I'm jealous

1. I'm jealous because though the program is not responsible for the predicament of Nigeria as a Nation, it subtly leverage on the ignorance, annoyance and frustration of Nigerians with the country.

2. I'm jealous because though the show has no intellectual or nation building value, it is very rich. It has sponsorship from big organisations down to votes from millions of Nigeria including poor people and unemployed graduates.

3. I'm jealous because Nigerians invest valuable time, energy, emotions and money into this program. Fans argue week after week on events in the house and spend endless time voting and recruiting for voters. Social media influencers get people to talk about it. I'm jealous because it's that engaging.

4. I'm jealous because reasonable programs and causes do not get this kind of engagement and funding. Programs that celebrate talents, intelligence, innovation and inventions do not get sponsorship or paid votes from ordinary Nigerians.

5. I'm jealous because the biggest and most celebrated TV show that Nigeria could project to the world is one that shows how shallow our value system is, how fake our professed faith is, and how powerless our will has become.

6. I'm jealous because though the program is only for few months, it's impact and engagement is throughout the year.

7. Finally, I'm jealous because though the show is not solving any societal problem, it'll still come back next year in a bigger way.
