As the owner or occupant of any residential, commercial, or industrial property, there are many reasons why you would need to have security fencing on your property. Essentially, security fencing helps to ward off intruders and vandals. Also, depending on the environment, it helps to lock animals in or out. Installing the right kind of fencing on your premises gives you peace of mind and reduce the costs of repairing the damage.

Types of Security Fencing
There are many types of security fencing available today. However, the kind of security fence anyone would prefer on their property usually depends on the particular purpose of why they want to erect one in the first place. Other factors that may have to be taken into consideration include the type of property, climate, position, and soil topography or terrain.

The following are some of the different types of security fencing available, and how you would benefit from each of them.

Palisade Fencing
Palisade fencing is available in either a ‘D’ or a ‘W’ profile, with ‘W’ providing the higher security of the duo. One of the distinguishing features of palisade fencing is that it is available in different heights as required by property owners. It is built with extremely robust materials and it is weather resistant. Due to its imposing height, it is a strong physical barrier to invaders as it is difficult to climb on or jump over. It can also be finished to become rust-resistant, and thus is very durable.
The most preferred type of palisade fencing is steel palisade, majorly because of its malleability and ease of installation. Steel palisade fencing is widely used to provide comprehensive security and restrict access to large industrial sites and dangerous locations such as power stations and railway lines. Also, it can be used to secure any commercial structure or premises with a high incidence of crime or vandalism.

Mesh Fencing
A mesh fence is a steel fence with wire strands welded together to form a very strong barrier around an area. Mesh fences are used primarily where visibility through the fence is required. This security fencing can be made from strong steel or galvanized stainless steel. A common type of mesh fencing is V-mesh fencing, where V-shaped wires are welded at the top of the fence.
Mesh fencing is a popular barricade used by homeowners in urban and rural areas, mainly due to its versatility, low cost, robustness, and aesthetic appeal. This is why it is also ideal for public areas such as playgrounds, sports grounds, and parks, where visual appeal and security are desired. Also, mesh fencing can be installed at a greater height than wooden fences and acts as a durable barrier to protect your premises against roadside animals, human intruders, and vandals.

High-Security Fencing
Other than other types of security fencing, high-security fencing has proven to be a highly effective deterrent against intruders, criminals, or vandals. Various enhancements and additional security features can be added to many fence types to make them provide high security. Typically, high secure fencing is usually installed with electric power, CCTV coverage, or trigger alarms.
Due to the flow of electric current across the fencing, it is almost impossible for intruders to break into your property as this can be hazardous. Due to the added level of protection high-security fencing provides, it is mainly installed at important places such as banks, government headquarters, and power substations.
