In Nigeria, the provision of adequate health care is the responsibility of the three tiers of government.
The Nigerian health sector was considered top-notch during the colonial era. At the time, the British ensured the health sector was well equipped. For example, the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan was deemed the best in Africa because of its facilities and the quality of medical personnel. But, it now seems like a shadow of itself.
