Every vehicle has what is called chassis. This is where the base frame which all the other vital components of the vehicle are connected to, such as the engine. There is something called an engine Mount or Sitting which allows the engine to stay or sit comfortably, no shaking, and firmly attached to the chassis. This prevents the engine from shaking or moving thereby gives the engine a firm stand as you are driving. For example, when you drive over potholes or bumps in the road, the engine mount absorbs this so that it doesn’t affect the engine’s position. Engine mounts are all made differently in order to accommodate different make and model vehicles. You will usually find engine mounts containing metal and rubber materials in every vehicle.

Vibrations

Sometimes the noise might not be as loud as you can notice easily. It could be a slight vibration which requires a careful observation to find out. With this, it shows that the engine mount or sitting is bad. And its anti-vibration properties weaken. An increase in vibrations leads to the engine making more of a sound than usual –something that can be extremely damaging to an engine if it continues for a long time.
