A leading Telecommunications  firm is looking for an experienced Project/Program manager with significant Telecomms experience to work on a major fibre project in Nigeria.
The critical success measures include the on time delivery of the projects, within budget and according to customer requirements. The detailed project management plans will include:
project charter/scope and plans, operational impact, budget management, risk analysis and mitigation (financial and operational), equipment procurement and delivery via supply chain management, installation, commissioning /network handover to the Operations team.

Previous experience managing FTTH community design, installation and commissioning of projects would be highly regarded. It is essential that the candidate have experience with vendors who have a proven track record with this technology.

The Project/Program manager is also responsible for the setting, monitoring, analyzing and managing subcontractor performance as well as ensuring the quality of the subcontractor’s fibre optic & civil works workmanship.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage the deployment and rollout of fibre optic infrastructure to support point to point fibre and FTTx
- Extensive knowledge in the GPON/GEPON/FTTx technology
- Extensive knowledge of Triple Play services over FTTx network
- Supervise the field service teams performing the installation and construction work.
- Provide regular reporting on the projects to management
- Interfacing with all stakeholders i.e. design team, business development, finance/billing, senior management on project timing/delivery.

Experience:
- At least 10 years in telecommunications industry, with 5 years experience in Project management (2 yr in Fiber network deployments)
- User experience for Microsoft Office Tools including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Project;
- User experience for Visio/AutoCAD/GIS tools is desired
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent English speaker
- Required education and experience:  Good honors degree in electrical engineering or a relevant computing/IT discipline
- Project management certified (PMP and/or Prince2)
- Specific Knowledge of Civil Works planning applications with Nigerian Local Authorities
