Nigerian Army has denied knowing the soldiers arrested for bullion van robbery in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. According to NA the arrested soldiers are not its personnel.

Reacting, Col. Aliyu Yusuf, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations in 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Enugu stated that the two soldiers arrested are not with the command.

Lies... If not then how were they able to get their army accredited gadgets which was then used during the operation.... The truth is that behind a successful crime operation is a strong compromise of the security personnels... They supply those bandits with adequate arms and intelligence.... We are not foolish now... The commandant said the soldier is not with 82 division Enugu, so the soldier could be from other command of Nigerian Army. The commandant did not deny that he is not a soldier from Nigerian Army.
