Nigerian rapper and singer, Azeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, has been arraigned at the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Ikeja for organising a concert in Abuja during COVID-19 interstate lockdown.

According to the DAILY POST, Naira Marley is being charged for violating COVID-19 directives banning interstate travels put in place to curb the spread of coronavirus when he travelled from Lagos to Abuja for a concert on Saturday, July 13, 2020 in Abuja.

The concert which was held at the Jabi Lake Mall, drew a lot of public outrage, that resulted in the Federal Government shutting down the event centre at the time.
