The presidency has questioned the protest staged by the members of the #RevolutionNow who took to the streets in agitation over the on going national issues, saying that it's unnecessary as the government are already addressing the issues the protesters were expressing misgivings about.

Members of the group staged protests in Lagos, Abuja, Osun and Ondo State on Wednesday demanding more efforts in tackling corruption cases, insecurity, poor services, unemployment, poverty, among others.

The Presidency, through it Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said that the Buhari administration was finding solutions to the issues, adding that it would be wrong to describe the protest as a revolution but more like a distraction.

He said:

“The question I will also ask is: which country in the world does not have those issues? Almost none; particularly at this time and season that the world is passing through. Which country doesn’t have those issues? Those issues are peculiar to every country of the world.
