What Unique Selling Point do you want to accomplish by building a new marketplace software from scratch? There loads of free (open source NOT freemium) that you can adapt to meet your needs and reduce your time to get to market. I'm always always wary of building apps that end up tying you to the Developer forever |

airsaylongcom: isn't your comment sort of Off-Point > Can't see where OP requested for what you complained about. By the way, any project can be worked upon by anyone knowledgeable as long as it's Code isn't hidden. If am wrong in anything I have said above, kindly point that out. |

bassdow: Okay so I don't see where the OP stated what exactly he wants to accomplish by building from scratch. Also I see software as a commodity. You should only build it if an existing solution doesn't exist. Most of us use Microsoft Word even though it doesn't have all that we need. I would want a car that is customised for example. Rather than hire a mechanical engineer to build one from scratch what I will do is buy an existing one and fine tune it to my needs. It should be the same for software. Software in itself is not an end not a means to an end. If there are free OSS that meet most of what he needs, he can pick those and adapt it to fully dị what he wants. It's easier and cheaper and he can always get support from the "community" that built the software at very reduced cost. I'm looking at it from business profitability rather than from the always itchy need thatost developers have to always reinvent the wheel |

airsaylongcom: Once again, I fail to see any mention or anything meaning that OP wants something from Scratch. By the way, if you can afford it, Building from Scratch (aka Custom made project) is always better than using a CMS e.g Woocommerce + WordPress, Magento, OpenCart, Prestashop, etc. Same way You can't compare a Shirt you asked a Tailor to Sew for you Vs One you bought already sewed even if it fits. Yea using readyMade softwares and customizing them to your taste might have advantages BUT believe me, in the long run, most or some of those Advantages becomes Disadvantage(s). So I presume OP means he wants a Custom made project, not using a CMS and/ or Framework. and Building a Custom made project isn't reinvent the wheel. Rather it's something One should do when necessary especially after weighing the pros & cons. Of course a developer should be able to advice a client on what's good or better at a point in time and/ or use case. If I tell you I want to build the next Big Social Media network to rival Facebook and you tell me you would use a CMS or even any of the FrameWorks, you've lost me as a client instantly BUT if I come to you and you advice against using such architecture, you have done your work even if I end up insisting or going to another developer. |

devbits:Thank God someone is telling him the truth. Someone up there quoted him. The person thinks udemy and fiverr can be done in wordpress. It's not a project for one person at all. Video encoding and decoding is people's job sef. 10 million never build udemy o. |
