General Explanation on Acne.
Genetics is generally known to be the main cause of
acne, around 80% of cases are as a result of genetic carry-on from parents to offsprings.Although,most people
believe that diet(intake of food rich in fats and
oil)/cigarette smoking is the main cause,this is not totally
true,because,dermatologically,there is no clear
relationship between diet and acne,neither is long
duration exposure to sunlight a confirmed cause.
In both sexes,androgens appear to be the underlying
cause,due to it's participation in the production of sebum.
Another common factor is the excessive growth of
cutibacterium acne,a bacteria present on the skin.
This is mainly to clear myths about pimples and acne.
