I'm in a dilemma right now. My company wants to get a new laptop for me. The issue is, I have two options

Dell 5490 it has a 14" screen, small . It has core i5 processor 8th generation.

Or

Dell 5580 15.6" screen , wide. It has core i5 processor 7th generation.

I'm a finance person who don't need much. The issue is, I intend learning data analysis software like power bi and other software programs. I'm aware that 8th generation is better than 7th generation but I need a bigger screen. The price are both the same and my boss can't go higher than that.

Core i5 8th gen processor small screen 8gb ram

Or

Core i5 7th gen processor big screen. 8 GB ram

I like should I trade faster processor for a bigger screen?

Thanks brother. Can you give me a reason please. I don't want to make a decision that I won't like. I don't know much about tech

Thanks

It has better processor, tho it depends on what u intend to do with that laptop, I'd choose this over big screen anytime.

I'm not a programmer per say, but I believe you'll need alot of multitasking when working as regards to Ur field.

The battery is good, 6 to 8hrs on a moderate usage.
The design is beautiful too

I've been using the 5480 variant since January this year and I'd say it's been serving me well.

Both are good.

But it's always processor over screen size for me.
