The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Omololu Soyombo received his appointment letter to resume work as the Vice Chancellor with Immidiate effect.

His appointment was announced by the University Council at its emmergency meeting in Abuja on Wednesdaty 12th August, where the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, was removed for act of financial recklessness, gross misconduct and abuse of office.

The letter, signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council Mr. Oladejo Azeez reads, “In consequence of the removal, the Council at the same meeting and in accordance with the statutory powers resolved to appoint you as Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos in an Acting Capacity with immediate effect. Please take the letter as official communication of your appointment by Council.”
